Basel Marriott Hotel

Fantastic hotel - everywhere was very clean and well maintained. Rooms were lovely. The breakfast was amazing - fabulous choice and the service especially from Jeanette was fantastic. There was a great attention to detail. All the staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Fantastic location - short walk to the Old Town. Tram stop virtually outside. Hopefully we will return to Basel and we'll definitely stay here again.

The hotel is super clean and comfortable. All the staff are very friendly and polite. The gentleman who works in the M Lounge was especially kind. He always welcomed us warmly and provided professional, well-trained service. It’s a bit of a pity that there is no parking, but you can easily find one close to the hotel.

Nice interior and clean place. Excellent service. However room size specially the bathroom is not adequate. Can bearly take a shower without hitting the enclosure very small bathrooms to even walk into them. Not sure what’s code here but not the best. Overall pleasant stay compared to other hotels in the area! Excellent gym!

My favorite part was the fantastically fresh and fancy brunch- complete with loose tea, many vegan options, fresh fruits, vegetables and fish. I was very pleased with the *SPARKLING* clean bathroom in our room! There was always a dispenser of fresh, cold, fruit or herb infused water available n the lobby. The staff were proactively accommodating. The only issue we had was we could not reenter our room after we had been granted a late checkout, which the receptionist resolved after waiting in line.

Ondanks een renovatie in 2022 blijft het gebouw uit 1984. Maar is wel keurig gerenoveerd. Het staat naast het messe gebouw en het hotel is daar ook op afgestemd. Het is een zakelijk hotel. Mijn kamer 401 is een grotere kamer. Helaas zijn sommige lichten knipperlichten geworden in mijn kamer. Badkamer is ook zeker niet al te groot, integendeel zou ik zeggen. Wat ik wel vreemd vind voor een hotel dat het restaurant gesloten is. De eerste avond hadden ze voor bonvoy gasten in de "M" club wel een stevige maaltijd klaar staan, elke avond wel. Maar zitten diverse aardige restaurants in de buurt. Je krijgt bij het inchecken een gratis openbaar vervoer kaart, zeer gewaardeerd. Kamer zijn zeer gehorig. Ik ben wel ambassadeur, dus veel hotels ondertussen gezien, dit vond ik qua sfeer een van de ongezellig hotel. Hoewelpersoneelzn best doet. Morgen weer een ander plaats, en een ander bonvoy. Prima locatie met alle trams voor de deur.

Great hotel! Had standard Switzerland style electrical outlets, no USB available. We had a very good size room. The blinds were on an automated system to close around 3 PM, but you can re-open them. Best part - it’s right across the street from where you can catch the tram!

The staff were incompetent at every level. They went so far as to falsely accuse me of lying and then ganged up on me in a manner that felt hostile and mafia-like simply because I had triplets with me. I booked a room for two, and as a Gold member I have always been offered an upgrade or a proper solution. Instead, I was dismissed, treated as if my loyalty points were worthless, and shown zero professionalism. When I escalated the issue, the manager’s response was equally unacceptable — unprofessional, inaccurate, and dismissive. If this is how Marriott chooses to treat loyal customers, I see no reason to continue giving my business to a brand that fails so completely in both service and integrity.
