ART HOUSE Basel - Member of Design Hotels

I recently spend 3 nights in a junior suite with a terrace at the Art House Hotel in Basel, and I'm recommending it. The location is great, situated in the heart of Basel but in a calm area. Moreover, it's just 2 minute walk from a parking, which was very convenient. The room was very nice, modern and very comfortable for 2 people. We truly enjoyed our stay there. The terrace was lovely, providing a nice space to relax, even though we did have a view obstruction due to a building renovation (not the fault of the hotel). We also enjoyed the rooftop bar, with a nice terrace and very good wine.|If you're looking for a well-placed, comfortable hotel in Basel, I highly recommend it. It provided everything we needed for a very nice stay.

Das Hotel ist prinzipiell gut. Das Haus wurde stilvoll renoviert, die Zimmer sind nett eingerichtet (wenn m. E. auch zu viel Technik-Schnickschnack, der dann nicht so reibungslos funktioniert wie gedacht), das Frühstück auf der Dachterrasse war angenehm.|Wir sind samtags für 3 Übernachtungen angereist und hatten ein Zimmer auf der 4. Etage mit Terrasse. Letztere hat uns ziemlich enttäuscht, denn die Bilder auf der Internetseite vermitteln den Eindruck von Weite und einem freien Blick von der Terrasse aus. Dem war nicht so: Die Terrasse liegt zu einer engen Gasse hin und direkt gegenüber befindet sich ein hohes Gebäude. Die Aussicht war demnach eher suboptimal. Blöderweise war ebendieses Gebäude bei unserem Aufenthalt zudem eine einzige Baustelle, was den Anblick nicht schöner machte (aber dafür können die Hotelbetreiber des Art House ja nichts).|Wo allerdings die Hotelbetreiber eventuell eine Mitverantwortung tragen und noch tätig werden sollten, wäre das nächtliche Lautstärkeproblem: Auf besagter Baustelle ist eine provisorische Lüftungsanlage installiert, die auf die Rückseite des Art House (dort, wo sich die Terrassen befinden) ausgerichtet ist und die rund um die Uhr enormen Lärm verursacht. Ohne die seitens des Hotels (!) bereitgelegten Ohropax hätte zumindest ich nächtens nicht schlafen können. Apropos Lärm: Wer über das Wochenende in Basel ist und mit dem Gedanken spielt, dieses Hotel zu buchen, der/die sollte sich bewusst sein, dass das Haus in einer sehr belebten Straße angesiedelt ist (viele Kneipen, Restaurants etc.) und dass sich in unmittelbarer Nähe ein Club befindet, der bis in die frühen Morgenstunden (mindestens bis 2 Uhr) laute, BPM-starke Musik hautnah erlebbar macht... ;)|Ergo: Das prinzipiell nette, stilvoll eingerichtete Hotel wäre an einem anderen Ort deutlich besser aufgehoben. Nach Basel werden wir sicher zurückkommen, aber nicht in das - auch nicht gerade preisgünstige - Art House.

Absolutely fantastic! Stayed for one night, and I arrived early. When I asked if I could leave my bags in storage, the gentleman at reception said he would give me an upgrade so I could get in a room right away. I was given a suite with huge windows, delightful shower, and a great vibe. There was a music party on the rooftop, but it is August and it was a Friday so it’s understandable. They provided ear plugs and that was more than sufficient. It was an incredible location, came with a Basel card so public transport was covered and museums were half off. Will absolutely stay here again when in Basel!

Art House Basel is a must-stay — especially for art lovers!|Each floor features stunning photography, adding to the creative atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay — from the sleek, modern design to the cozy, spacious rooms, everything was spotless and thoughtfully arranged. The in-room refrigerator with refreshing drinks was a lovely touch. We also appreciated the fresh apples on every floor and the 24/7 coffee and tea service. The location is perfect, and the rooftop terrace made it even more special. Highly recommended for design lovers and anyone seeking comfort with style.

I stayed with my son. We both enjoyed our stay. The bed and pillows were very soft. The room design was really nice. The personnel were very nice and kind. We enjoyed the breakfast as well. Also, the location of the hotel was very good. It was close to every famous area in Basel. Thank you to all the personel for their hospitality.

Everything about this hotel is amazing. The rooms are wonderful, very cozy and comfortable beds. The service is very friendly and quick to help if you need anything. The breakfast and rooftop bar are also really good. The location is super central and you can reach anything pretty easily and quickly. It's a 5 minute walk from the train station, there is many restaurants, shops and public transport close by. BUT the street is in fact incredibly noisy: it didn't matter if it was a weekday or on the weekends, the noise was terrible even after 2 or 3am. If you close the windows it's a bit better, but you definitely still hear it. The hotel provides ear plugs, but I find it very uncomfortable to sleep with these. Anyone considering to stay here should be aware of the location and noise level until early morning hours. Other than that: nicest hotel I've ever been to!

We had an incredible stay at Art House Basel and can’t recommend it highly enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff were warm, helpful and genuinely interested in making our visit memorable. The hotel’s interior is stunning – a beautiful blend of modern design, comfort and creativity. Every corner has a unique touch that reflects the hotel’s connection to art and culture.||Our room was spotless, well-appointed and quiet, with one of the comfiest beds we’ve slept in. The rooftop bar was a highlight – a great spot to unwind with a drink and enjoy panoramic views of the city. The location is also ideal, just a short walk to the old town, museums and fantastic restaurants.||If you’re looking for a stylish, boutique hotel with great service and personality, Art House Basel is the one. We’ll definitely be back!
