GAIA Hotel Basel / Schweiz

We had an excellent stay at the Gaia hotel. The staff were extremely welcoming, friendly and helpful. The rooms are a good size with nice bedding and fluffy towels. We also used the small spa area, which was very relaxing. The breakfast buffet is amazing - a really good selection, including vegetarian and vegan choices, with very high quality food. Would love to return!

We really enjoyed our one-night stay. The reception and restaurant service was excellent. The breakfast buffet was sumptuous with lots of variety. The 'smart-double' room was clean and of comfortable size. The only glitch was a loose toilet seat, which I'm sure it already fixed. We'd happily return to the Gaia.

Wir haben eine Fahrt mit dem Zug nach Wengen gemacht mit einem Zwischenstopp in Basel. Hier wohnten wir im Hotel Gaia in der Nähe vom Hauptbahnhof in guter Innenstadtlage. Das Hotel war in Ordnung und mit allem Komfort ausgestattet. Auch gab es ein leckeres und ausgiebiges Frühstück. |Der Service war sehr gut und wir fühlten uns sehr wohl. Basel ist eine sehr schöne Stadt und mit der Straßenbahn in kurzen Zeitabständen alles gut zu erreichen. Wir haben eine Stadtführung mitgemacht und das war sehr interessant. Auch haben wir am Mittag im Restaurant Stucki sehr gut gegessen.

This was my first trip to visit Basel. I was unsure of where to stay and found GAIA Hotel through my travel credit card company. We reviewed the amenities of hotel and thought it was good choice. Good is NOT the word I would now use to describe my experience. It was GREAT!!! After a long travel day the friendly and hospitable staff welcomed us and made check in easy. Our room was ready and we were able to settle right in. We spent 8 days here as we were here for Art Basel week. The entire staff from front desk to the restaurant made us feel right at home. They always greeted us with smiles and friendly good morning or good evenings. The hotel was clean and all the amenities were perfect for our stay. I am still dreaming of the amazing coffee and delicious breakfast we had each day. Thank you for the fantastic experience and we look forward to coming back next year.

Excellent hotel with great staff. Patrick was very helpful with local advice on our arrival. Rooms were kept to a high standard, with a free minibar. Breakfast was lovely the fresh squeezed orange juice is a nice addition. If you are looking for a friendly hotel with character in Basel you won’t be disappointed.

All staff in the hotel were professional, helpful and friendly, and they made our 4 night stay a very enjoyable break. ||The location is perfect, easy to reach from the airport. We took #50 bus from Basel airport to Basel SBB (railway station), and the hotel was a 3 min walk from there.||Various buses and tram stops just within a few mins walk, the fares are free during your hotel stay in Basel via Baselcard. ||The breakfast was delicious and fresh, certainly recommended. ||The room was very clean, some free water and soft drinks were also provided.

Lovely room with English tv channels . Couldn’t rate higher fantastic ! Top of all the hotels experience and of the 4 and 5 star we stayed in. We were away 7 weeks . |Handy to train station . 15 min walk old town area . Fantastic hotel and staff always aiming to please . Complementary fruit drinks in room fridge .
