What a treasure of a hotel! Its location is perfect to tour the old town of Geneva. We stepped outside the front door, looked to the right, and there was St. Pierre's! It was the meeting point for our Calvin Tour of the Reformation. |Restaurants abound; the one associated with the hotel is the oldest one in Geneva and is fabulous. Reservations are highly recommended either for a mid-day meal or for the evening. Inside tables create a more relaxed atmosphere as a path used by tours goes through the middle of the exterior tables.|Our room was spotlessly clean and offered lots of hanging space for our clothes plus a closet of shelves for everything else. The front desk staff could not have been more helpful and efficient. We had failed to get a Swiss adapter for our stay; we are so used to using our adapters in France. The hotel loaned us a couple and saved the day. The price for the room was high, but Geneva is a very expensive city. |The two lobbies are perfect for relaxation. Coffee and tea are always available and the front desk personnel will order drinks from the adjacent restaurant.
Disappointed by Unwelcoming Service My family has a home just around the corner from this hotel, and I decided to walk over this morning after hearing good things about their breakfast. Upon arrival, I was greeted by a gentleman at the front desk. Since I don’t speak French, he quickly identified me as an American and informed me that the restaurant was reserved exclusively for hotel guests. It was a disappointing experience. I had hoped to enjoy a nice meal and support a local business, but it seems my presence—and my money—weren’t welcome. Hospitality should extend beyond just those staying the night.
We have only just returned from a 7 night stay, and we had a wonderful time. Geneva was fantastic, with plenty to do for a week if you get out and about on trains and boats - it's a beautiful spot with everything the lake offers. But this review is about the hotel, and, in summary, the only word I can come up with is exemplary: the location is perfect, the staff provide as good service as I've received in any hotel around the world, the facilities are all to a high standard, the bedrooms are excellent (well designed with nice touches), great mattress, excellent breakfast with a really good selection of hot and cold food, plus the restaurant was top level (great food and service - perfect for the special birthday I was celebrating.) We also had a small (well behaved) dog with us, and the hotel made her feel very welcome. There was also no extra charge for the dog which is unusual for hotels in my experience. Special mention to the lady who manned the breakfast room. Her service was perfect, welcoming us each morning, making sure we had all we wanted, and making sure we had a corner table for us with the dog. Nothing was any trouble - made a great start to each day at the hotel
This is an excellent Hotel in the very heart of Geneva's old town. It is in a superb location for walking, cultural activities, shopping, and restaurants. The staff is great, and the service is first-class. The room is very comfortable, has everything you need, and is an excellent size. Breakfast was included and it was very nice, complete and tasty, and with a very friendly staff too. They also have a Restaurant in the back, Restaurant Les Armures, in a beautiful setup, and probably the best cheese fondue I've ever had. My only issue is that I requested a room with a view in the reservation, and we had a room with zero view, just another wall. But honestly, we were probably going to do little with it, as we just returned to the hotel for the night.
The hotel was in the old town right next to the cathedral. Location was perfect with lots of restaurants and shopping nearby. The room was designed well with plenty of storage and seating. The bed was very comfortable. The hotel provided a delicious breakfast bar and Nespresso in the room! Very lovely stay. Highly recommended.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel in Geneva, and overall, our impression of the hotel itself was very positive. The hotel's atmosphere is steeped in history, and it’s incredibly beautiful and cozy, giving the impression that you’ve stepped into a place with a rich past. Evenings at the hotel are truly idyllic, and this is definitely something worth mentioning. However, unfortunately, our breakfast experience did not meet expectations. We were disappointed with the quality of service in the restaurant. We were seated at a table for two, but it was only set for one person, which already created an uncomfortable feeling. When we asked for additional utensils, the waitress responded that we could take the dishes from the common buffet. An odd solution for a five-star hotel. This was not the end of our discomfort. Even though we were practically the only guests at breakfast, the dishes were left uncleared for a long time, and the waitress responded to our requests with clear displeasure and a lack of courtesy. This is far from the level of service we expected from a five-star hotel. While the food at breakfast was very tasty and the atmosphere in the restaurant was hard not to love, the service left much to be desired. We would recommend the hotel management pay attention to this aspect and perhaps conduct a morning walk-through with the waitress to personally assess the service quality. Overall, the hotel is wonderful, but if the service were on the same level as everything else, this place could be perfect for a stay.
