Great find. The town of Rapperswil is very quaint and lovely, as is Hotel Jakob.Form the moment we arrived we knew we had made a good choice (thanks ChatGTP!!). The check in was friendly, quick and easy, even didn’t have to pay until check out, a rarity these days. The room was spacious enough, clean and tidy. Bathroom a little on the tiny side, but adequate. Only suggestion would be a pillow selection. The restaurant was special. The staff excellent and the food was great as was the wine selection. Recommend!!! Overall the hotel and facilities a definite 5/5

Restaurantbewertung: Wir gingen zu 5. an einem Samstag ins Restaurant auf der Suche nach einem Mittagssnack. Der Laden war gut besucht zu diesem Zeitpunkt. Wir bestellten unser Essen und mussten über 60 Minuten auf das Essen warten. Wir bestellen keine außergewöhnlichen Dinge, lediglich Salat, Wraps und Fish&Chips. Auch nach mehrfachen Nachfragen kam keine Reaktion. Als dann das Essen kam waren wir für die gebotenen Mengen auf Grund des gehobenen Preises sehr enttäuscht. Knappe 40 Franken für 5 frittierte Fischstäbchen und eine Handvoll Pommes. Zudem war ein Teller so heiß und wurde vom Kellner ohne Kommentar übergeben, dass sich eine Person die Finger verbrannte. Eine nachgeorderte Portion Ketchup wurde wahrscheinlich bis heute nicht an den Tisch gebracht. Für einen Kaffee oder nett zum Sitzen ist es hier sicher schön. Ein Mittagessen würde ich hier jedoch nicht empfehlen. 2 Sterne für den Standort.

Heads up for families with a toddler who want space. The pictures of double rooms advertised are misleading - as they only depict one of the larger superior rooms. The others are tiny in real life. We won’t book again. Location of the hotel is very good.

Meine Kollegin und ich wollten dort essen. Schon am Anfang wollte der Chef uns SEHR an einen anderen Tisch scheuchen. Als wir aber blieben, weil wir Sonne wollten hat er kurzerhand die Sonnenstoren rausgefahren. Wir sind daraifhin aufgestanden und gegangen, da hat uns der Chef Schimpfwörter nachgerufen und den Vogel gezeigt.

Wir durften im Restaurant Jakob unsere Geburtstagsfeier genießen. Als geschlossene Gesellschaft mit 35 Personen und einem Appenzeller Quartett hatten wir sehr gute Platzverhältnisse. Für das Wohlsein sorgte das Team von Piero in perfekter Weise. Alle unsere Gäste fühlten sich sehr wohl. Wir können das Jakob bestens empfehlen.
