THE VIEW Lugano

One of the best hotels I've ever stayed at! The View was was truly incredible. The staff was very attentive and showed us around. Their food was great. We enjoyed lunch at the restaurant but honestly we had room service for dinner because our View was so amazing. It was even better than the restaurant, plus we could wear our robes and slippers! We will absolutely be back!!! Also, we loved the tablet controlled blinds, so we could lay in bed with the best view and then with the press of a button close our blinds and get full dark! It was amazing!

Wir haben ein Wochenende hier verbracht und waren von der wunderschönen Anlage, der Terrasse und dem Hotel insgesamt beeindruckt. Wir haben in einer Residence übernachtet und uns dort wohlgefühlt. Die Massagen war angenehm. Vor dem Abendessen haben wir auf der Terrasse einen Aperitif genossen. Dazu gab es verschiedene Nüsse und Chips. Leider mussten wir mehrfach selbst den Service aufsuchen — sei es zum Bestellen, zum Unterschreiben oder um Wasser zu bekommen. Auch an der Rezeption war häufig niemand anzutreffen. Letztlich haben wir den Zimmerschlüssel vor dem Abendessen der Spa-Mitarbeiterin übergeben, da niemand von der Rezeption erreichbar war. Selbst als wir später zurückkamen, war niemand da, um den Schlüssel vom ausgeliehenen Fahrzeug entgegenzunehmen. Negativ aufgefallen ist auch, dass ein altes Essenstablett über 24 Stunden vor unserem Zimmer stehen blieb. Positiv hervorzuheben ist der Service beim Frühstück, der sehr aufmerksam war. Ansonsten war die Präsenz des Personals leider insgesamt sehr schwach — zwar freundlich, aber kaum verfügbar. This hotel has absolutely incredible views of the lake from the top of the hill! The rooms are ultra modern and the staff is very helpful. The hotel's location is a drive from the town of Lugano. It's not walkable to any other restaurants or sight seeing. However, the rentals of the electric smart cars are awesome and convenient to use. There is also free parking if you bring your own vehicle. The Michelin restaurant at the hotel had amazing food for dinner. The included breakfast in the morning was great as well! The spa facilities were top notch. Extremely clean and luxurious. I wish I was able to spend more time there. Would love to stay here again. Thanks to the staff at the View!

The View is aptly named. Probably the most stunning view I've ever had at a hotel. The room was very spacious and impecable, just as appears on the website. The hotel breakfast was wonderful, and I've had a lot of them. Be aware, this hotel is about a 35 minute walk from the center of Lugano, which some fail to mention. There's a city bus you can catch that cuts it down to 15 minutes. However, the hotel is situated up a very steep hill, which you have to climb to get to the bus stop. This was ok as we are young and fit, but would be a problem for small children or older adults. Even for us, the climb each day was exhausting and I chose to limit how many times I went back and forth to the hotel because of this. It was also June and close to 90 degrees, so that didn't help. We did not try out the bikes, as I'm not adept enough of a rider to deal with the steep hills so that is something to be aware of too if you're thinking you want to use the available ebikes. All in all, the price was exorbitant, and although the stay was excellent, I probably would not choose this property again due to the climb to get back and forth. Finally, the spa facilities and indoor pool were nice. I think having an outdoor pool would have been even better though.

The view We spent our Easter holidays in The View. The hotel is very modern, with great facilities. Reception and breakfast staff is very supportive and great. Following an alarm incident that unfortunately happened late at night, they gave us a free aperetif which was a very nice gesture. The room was exactly as described in the booking details, with great views to the lake and very cozy. They also offer free Smart electric car rentals which were great to travel around Paradiso and neighbouring cities. Nevertheless, although our stay was great, I think the following points should be addressed to continue improving guest experience: 1. Their "breakfast included" option feels deceptive: breakfast is small and anything beyond fried/scrambled eggs in its a la carte service (i.e. eggs benedict) is separately charged (25-30€ per dish). This is surprising to see in a 5* hotel. I think the breakfast conditions should've been clearer 2. Their massage services fill up very quickly. During our whole weekend we were only able to book on our last night. However, even though we mentioned we both wanted massages, they only took one booking and didn't give us a solution for it. Good hotel overall but some thing could be improved

Wir haben ein Wochenende hier gemacht Personal sehr freundlich: Christina, Giulia, Luiza wirklich aufmerksam und freundlich! Danke nochmals! Tolle Aussicht und schöne Lage! Drinks waren viel zu teuer 18 Franken für einen Aperol Sprizz ist zu hoch. Zimmer waren uns zu dunkel und Dusche nicht einladend. Flure stickig und viel zu dunkel. Essenstablare mit benutzen Geschirr standen zu lange vor den Zimmern. Zimmer hätte ich mir heller gewünscht. Sehr negativ: Kein Shuttle Service zum Bahnhof, man müsste selbst noch ein Taxi bezahlen. Ein no Go! Frühstück überschaubar, kein Highlight. Einige Frühstücksspeisen a la carte wie zum Beispiel Egg Benedict kosten extra, das habe ich vorher noch nie erlebt in einem 5 Stern Hotel! Spa haben wir nur den Pool benutzt ( es gibt nur Innen Pool) dieser hat uns gefallen. Das ausleihen von den Smart Autos war sehr gut. Auch das Personal in der Garage war sehr freundlich! Insgesamt stimmt das Preis-leistungsverhältnis leider nicht und momentan würden wir nicht wieder kommen, allenfalls wenn die Kritikpunkte sich ändern würden!

Great hotel. We spent 5 amazing days here and the staff has been nothing short of amazing. Special thank you to Luiza for making our 3 year old feel welcome. The room was clean and with amazing view. The smart cars were a great addition. We used them every day. We look forward to being back! PS. There’s a great park 2 minutes down the hill for walking with amazing views. It’s also great if you have kids - our son loved playing there.
