Restaurant Atelier (im Teufelhof)

Tenía muchas ganas de disfrutar este restaurante emplazado en tan magnífico lugar como es la parte alta y plena de encanto en Basel. Un amigo me invitó a cenar un Miércoles y aunque había bastante gente, la atmósfera era agradable y bien insonorizado lo que es un plus. El servicio rápido además de amable. La comida relación calidad-precio está en consonancia. Espero volver pronto y disfrutar en su magnífica terraza.

A wonderful place with great service. The charming patio offers a bit of coolness on a hot day. Unfortunately, we were probably unlucky with the food – out of five people, four received heavily oversalted dishes (steaks and lamb), and the gazpacho had nothing to do with a proper gazpacho – watery, lacking blended bread, and with no noticeable garlic flavor.

Tolles Ambiente mit inspirierenden Kunstwerken an den Wänden. Freundlicher und aufmerksamer Service. Prima gekocht, Saucen frisch zubereitet. Z.B. Super Kalbssteak mit Polenta.

For my boyfriends birthday, we came here for a dinner yesterday. It was a wonderful surprise that they accomodated this special event with a special table secluded from the rest of the restaurant, ideal for a romantic dinner for 2. They even prepared a little gift and a note. We had the steak and lamb menu - both perfectly done to our taste. They have a huuuuge wine selection! and a very interesting palette of starters. Service was also perfectly executed.

What a disappointment! We ordered a salad for a starter and a main course of fish. The salad was ok, nothing special. The fish came cold, and row I returned it to the kitchen. It came after a while and was still row in the middle. It is unfortunate to see the same fish served at the same table, which was different. The Basmati rice was half cooked. The taste of the fish and the rice was blant, no flavour at all. The service, was unprofessional. I did not expect this from this restaurant. I have been in this restaurant since we moved to Basel. Thank god they did not charge me for my fish.

The starter and the main dish were delicious! A lot of different flavors, a very nice combination. The meat was tender and melting in the mouth, and was accompanied with a delicious sauce and puree. The service is quick and competent. I am very pleased by that. Only negative thing, with all honestly, The dessert is awful. I didn't even finish it, I ate only one bite and it was enough. It is such a shame as it is the last part of the meal. Nevertheless, I would recommend this restaurant for its various starters and dishes, but not for the dessert.
