Polite staff at check-in. Room was ready on arrival (before check-in time). Staff were interested in the purpose of our trip. Everything was clearly explained. Room was very compact but clean and had everything that we needed. My travel adapter did not fit into socket but luckily there were USB charging points. Comfortable bed. Full kitchen facilities. Our breakfast was included. Choice of cereals, fruit, bread, croissants and hot/cold drinks. Not a lot of hot food options, there was scrambled egg and bacon. Would have been nice to have had a toaster to toast the bread. Would stay here again. Located 1min from a train station and tram stop. Very convenient location.
I stayed in a balcony suite which was very large, clean, and comfortable. ||Very quiet in the hallways and from adjoining rooms, a wee bit noisy from outside as the balcony door had to remain open for the AC hose. ||Loved the fact that the TV you could get You tube and mirror devices easily. The TV swiveled so could be watched in bed or from the very comfortable seating area. ||I was initially worried about the summer heat due to the lack of traditional air conditioning, but the portable unit provided in the room was more than adequate and kept the suite very cool throughout my stay. Nice touch that I asked for it prior arrival, and it was set up and on when I got to my room. ||One of the things I appreciated most was the relaxed, hassle-free environment. There wasn’t constant staff interaction and interruption’s, which I liked, they were there if you needed them, it felt more like staying in a private apartment than a hotel.||Breakfast was simple but satisfying. The chocolate croissants were a standout, and I liked that you could take the food back to your room to enjoy at your own pace. They do need to be speedier on replenishing items on the buffett, the teams effort was more focused on checking people in to breakfast, which I didn’t get as everyone staying had breakfast included and I’m sure no one one would sneak in from outside. ||There was a hiccup on the first morning when the shower wasn’t working. It was fixed really quickly — within about 30 minutes of reporting it — which I appreciated. However, I was disappointed that there was no apology or real concern from the front desk. A genuine "sorry" as not being able to take a proper shower impacted my morning. ||The location is excellent — a short walk to just about everything, with the train station on your doorstep. The area felt safe, clean, and quite upscale.||Overall, a very comfortable stay and would definitely
A good hotel with excellent location in picturesque Enge with transport at your doorstep. The staff are wonderful and helpful as well. The only main set back is the size of the connected rooms which are too small and feel cramped and furniture is a bit dated. The beds on the other hand are very comfortable. Overall a convenient option for a short stay.
As a frequent traveller, I choose accommodation for both comfort and service. Locke am Platz presents itself as a four-star hotel, but the reality is closer to a serviced apartment block with very limited amenities.||Positives:| • Polite, professional reception team| • Spacious, stylish studios with terraces, seating areas, and full-size fridge| • Comfortable beds and plush interiors| • Private parking (CHF 40 per night)| • Restaurant on-site (though only open at certain times)||Negatives:| • No bar, gym, spa, pantry, minibar, or room service| • No milk for the coffee machine, and no phone in rooms (only WhatsApp contact)| • No air conditioning in any guest rooms (only noisy portable units)| • Parking is much more expensive than local hotels| • Location is inconvenient – 20 minutes’ walk to anywhere of interest (apart from the FIFA Museum)||The biggest issue is the lack of honesty. When we asked about the air conditioning, reception claimed "Swiss hotels don’t have air con" while standing under a large unit cooling the lobby. This felt dismissive and insulting.||Ultimately, while the rooms are attractive, there are none of the services or touches that make a hotel feel four-star. Overpriced for what it offers, and I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re seeking a proper hotel experience in Zurich.
We had a fantastic stay at Locke am Platz. The check-in process was smooth, and the staff were helpful throughout. Hamid greeted us on arrival and pointed out key places to visit, including walking routes and tram lines. He even gave us tailored advice on transportation based on a activity we had planned, marking it all down on a map for us to take with us. This gave us a great head start for making the most of our time in Zürich. Our room was both spotless (probably one of the cleanest hotel rooms I've seen) and nicely decorated, making it a lovely place to return to and relax at the end of each day. The room featured a well-equipped kitchenette, Chromecast TV, and a comfy bed and sofa. It faced away from the street, so it was quiet enough to sleep with the window open, great for keeping the room cool at night. All the staff we met were friendly and helpful. Although the breakfast selection was on the smaller side, everything was fresh and high quality. Most importantly, the coffee was excellent. Overall, a lovely stay. We’d happily recommend Locke am Platz to anyone visiting Zürich.
